November 14, 2009 // ELOPEMENT / SAN FRANCISCO / WEDDING
Jenn and Brian flew in from Chicago and eloped at San Francisco City Hall in a beautiful and intimate ceremony. I had such a great time taking these pics and I was even the witness for the marriage license which was a first for me!  Following the ceremony I took them around the city to some of my favorite locations taking pictures at Blue Bottle Coffee and outside the Presidio among other locations. Also, I have to give a big thank you to Mary Lois of Loop Flowers who we called the day of and she put together an absolutely stunning bouquet and boutonnière.  Thank you so much Jenn and Brian for having me shoot your wedding!

September 14, 2009 // SAN FRANCISCO / WEDDING
I hope you enjoy these photos from Jon and Sam's stunning wedding at the Four Season's Hotel in San Francisco.  This amazing event was coordinated by Lea Mathewson and Natalie Alvanez of Simply Sparkling Events. As always it was such a treat to work with them and we can't wait for our next event together.  It was also our first time working with the amazing Nicole Ha and let  me tell you, the flowers were off the hook and she did an absolutely stunning job. Another great highlight as seen in the pics below were the cupcakes from That Takes the Cake, de-licious.  Also we must make special note of the ridiculous Enhanced Lighting Company. MOST INCREDIBLE CHUPPAH EVER! Seriously, it was AMAZING. Lighting isn't generally something we walk away from a wedding thinking "we must blog about that!" But Enhanced Lighting Co. really did such an amazing job! Check them out if you have any custom lighting needs. Thank you Jon and Sam for letting us be a part of your special day!!! You guys are SO FANTASTIC!!!! One last thing, if you are on twitter, follow us @floryphoto.

Blog Widget by LinkWithinWhere do I even begin with this? First off, hang in there with me as this is going to be a long post...but how else do you do justice to one of the most amazing weddings? Julie and Matt's wedding was the first ever at the all new Yoshi's Jazz Club in SF which is one of my new favorite spots for a wedding in San Francisco.  Seriously, the place was made for weddings.  Throw in working with my favorite videographers, Curtis and Travis of Curtis Nemetz Productions, and then Jon of Encarnacion Photography and Curtis as my second shooters and I had the dream team working with me. Cara was at home with our beautiful 3 week old daughter and while I really missed shooting with her, Jon and Curtis stepped it up and we didn't miss a beat.  All of the printed details from the day were designed by Abbie of Passing Notes (See previous post for more details) and I was blown away with the quality.  For all couples out there looking for custom designed invitations, programs, and everything else, be sure to hire Abbie as her work is second to none. Matt owns a shoe store in Alameda, District, and the whole wedding had a shoe theme from their cake, invites, seat place holders and so on.  Julie's dress by Junko Yoshioka was stunning and her jewelry by Renee Pawlee well, was stunning also, but my favorite thing even over Matt's van's was the cake.  I have never seen a cake that was even close to being as cool as this one by Debbie Does Cakes.  Enjoy all of the photos and you can view more photos here and you can view their engagement photos here.  Lastly, be sure to make it all the way to the bottom of the post where you can view their highlights video along with a video from their first dance. One more thing... here are some kind words from Julie and Matt:

We're back. I can't stop looking at the photos, watching the videos and bawling all at the same time. There aren't enough words to describe our love and appreciation for you, Jon, Curtis and Travis. Want to do it all over again? Haha. Wish I could relive it everyday. Makes me want to start my own wedding planning business for sure. We were truly blessed to have such a talented and supportive team working with us! Can't imagine the big day without you.

Big hugs!
Julie

I never got a chance to thank you personally for all your help on the day of the wedding. Man, you are a real pro. If I remember correctly (the big day is really all a blur now), it was during dinner when someone needed water or soda water - maybe because Julie had a spot on her dress or something? - that I saw you bolt over to a waiter and grab a glass and come to the rescue. It was at that point when I thought to myself, damn, this guy's good. Haha.

Seriously though, I wish you nothing but the best with your career and budding family. And thank you again for all your hard work and preparation. You really helped make our day special.

Thanks,
Matt

All I can say is what a wedding.  Matt and Julie have to be some of our favorite clients of all time.  Matt owns a shoe store in Alameda, The District and Julie planned the whole wedding by herself.  It was the first ever wedding at the new Yoshi's Jazz Club in SF and it was amazing.  Every detail of the wedding from the cake to the table settings and their custom logo designed by Passing Notes was spot on.  Here are a few picks from the night and I will be sure to post more when I am done editing the wedding.  Also, below is their highlights video and first dance video put together by Curtis Nemetz Productions which is hands down my favorite videographer to work with.  Curtis and Travis are the best team and we love shooting weddings with them. To round out the amazing day Jon of Encarnacion Photography shot with me and as always his work was amazing.  Again stay posted for more from their wedding along with all of the details.

Blog Widget by LinkWithinI posted some images the day after their wedding a couple of weeks ago and since then everyone has been emailing wanting to see more.  Well here they are.  I do have to warn you though as there are a ton of photos because I had such a hard time narrowing down my favorites.  Loralie and Kevin are such an amazing couple and Cara and I had such a blast photographing their wedding.  Kathryn of Dream a Little Dream Events did such a great job planning the wedding that even when we were hit with a little rain, things went off without a hitch.  As always Natalie Bowen provided flowers that were simply stunning.  Loralie and Kevin got ready at Hotel Vitale and then we headed down to the ferry building and they had some wine and oysters at the Hog Island Osyter Company.  They had an amazing roof top ceremony at the Art Institute and then an intimate dinner reception at Florio.

Here is what Loralie wrote when she got home after the wedding:

Are you kidding me???

Thank YOU for photographing our wedding. We got back to Indy last night, had dinner and sat down and reviewed the slide show together. It is so perfect I don't have words. We have so many favorite pics from your slide show, we couldn't narrow down to our favorite. Kevin and I couldn't stop talking on Sunday about how great you, Cara, Kathryn and Natalie are to work with. You are seriously a dream team!

And we had dinner at La Mar on Sunday night with friends. So fabulous. Great recommendation!

And here is what Loralie had to say about the dress:  You asked about the dress... It was custom-made by Joyce Hittelsdorf. She has a small studio in Carmel, Indiana called Something Wonderful. When I couldn't find anything that I loved in the stores, Joyce worked with me to put together a gown that had all of the elements I was looking for: right color, right fabrics, right fit.
